in.k8 works with Gecko's X, Y and Class series control systems
k8 models preceded by « in » are compatible with all Gecko control systems. Those without are made for our m.class.
spa key functions
on/off key
Depending on your spa manufacturer, this key will have one function or a combination of the following functions: Standby mode and/or On/Off and/or Economy mode.
pump 1/Off key
Press Pump 1 key to turn Pump 1 on at low speed, a second time to turn it to high speed (dual-speed pump). A third time turns pump off. A built-in timer automatically turns pump off after 20 minutes. A long press of 5 seconds will enable the Off mode, which will allow you to stop all outputs for 30 minutes to perform a quick maintenance.
pump 2 key
Press Pump 2 key to turn Pump 2 on at low speed and a second time to turn it to high speed (dual-speed pump). A third time turns pump off. A built-in timer automatically turns pump off after 20 minutes, unless pump has been manually deactivated.
blower key
Press Blower key to turn Blower on and second time to turn it off. A built-in timer automatically turns blower off after 20 minutes, unless the blower has been manually deactivated first.
light key
Press Light key to turn the light on. A second press turns the light off. A built-in timer automatically turns the light off after 2 hours, unless it has been manually deactivated first.
up/down keys
Use Up or Down key to set desired water temperature. The temperature setting will be displayed for 2 seconds while you confirm your new selection.
programming your spa settings
program/filter menu
Quick press the Filter key allows you to display the clock. A 5 seconds press will allow you to enter the program menu. The following parameters can then be set: the clock, filter or purge cycles, economy mode and temperature units. Use Up/Down keys to set parameters.
setting the clock
Enter program menu by holding down Filter key for 5 seconds. Display will show current clock setting. The minutes will be solid; the hours will flash. Depending on factory settings, system is set on a 24-hour or a 12-hour notation. Use Up/Down keys to adjust hours and minutes.
filter & purge cycles
Depending on syst. configuration the system will perform either a filter or a purge cycle. The filter cycle menu consists of the following parameters: start time (FS), duration (Fd) and frequency (FF). Purge cycle menu consists of the following parameters: start time (FS) and frequency (FF).
filter cycle start time
Dsplay will show «FSxx», «xx» representing the starting hour of the filter cycle. Use the Up & Down keys to adjust the hours. Use the Filter key to jump to the filter duration parameter (Fd).
filter cycle duration
Display will show «Fdxx», «xx» representing the filter cycle duration in hours. Use Up & Down keys to adjust the duration. Use Filter key to jump to the filter frequency parameter (FF). 0 = no filtration 24 = continuous filtration. It is not recommended to set at «0».
filter cycle frequency
Display will show «FFxx», «xx» representing the number of filter cycles per day. Use Up & Down keys to adjust the frequency. Use the Filter key to jump to the Economy mode parameter (EP).
purge cycle start time
Display will show «FSxx», «xx» representing the purge cycle starting hour. Use Up & Down keys to adjust the hours. Use the Filter key to jump to the purge frequency parameter (FF).
purge cycle frequency
Display will show «FFxx», «xx» representing the number of purge cycles a day. Use Up and Down keys to adjust the frequency. Use Filter key to go to economy mode parameter (EP).
economy mode
This mode allows you to lower the temperature set point by 20°F (11°C) during a specific period of the day. Display will show «EPx», «x» representing the state of the programmed economy mode (0 = disable, 1 = enable). Use Up/Down key to Enable or Disable. Use the Filter key to jump to the economy start time parameter (ES).
economy start time
The display will show «ESxx», «xx» representing the hour at which the economy mode will become active. Use Up/Down keys to adjust the hour. Use Filter key to jump to the economy duration parameter (Ed). When Economy mode is on, the display will toggle between the Eco message and the water temperature.
economy duration
The display will show «Edxx», «xx» representing the duration in hours of the economy mode. Use the Up or Down key to adjust the hour. Use the Filter key to jump to the temperature unit parameter. 0 = no economy 24 = continuous economy.
temperature unit
Water temperature can be displayed in Fahrenheit (°F) or Celsius (°C). Use Up & Down keys to change the setting. Use Filter key to save your selection.
smart winter mode
Our Smart Winter Mode will protect your system from the cold by turning the pumps on several times a day to prevent water from freezing in the pipes.
temperature regulation
In a regulation cycle, the system first generates water flow through the heater housing and the plumbing, to ensure accurate water temperature readings and to avoid heater activation in dry conditions. After verifying pump activation and taking temperature reading if required, system automatically turns heater on to reach and maintain water temperature at Set Point.

pump 1
Pump 1 indicator lights up when it is on. With a dual-speed pump, indicator will flash when pump 1 is on at low speed.

pump 2
Pump 2 indicator lights up when it is on. With a dual-speed pump, indicator will flash when pump 2 is on at low speed.

blower
Blower indicator lights up when the blower is on.

light icon
The Light indicator lights up when the light system is on.

set point
The Set Point icon indicates that the display shows the desired temperature. NOT the current water temperature! Indicator flashes when taking a water temperature reading.

filter and purge
This icon will light up while the filter cycle or the purge cycle are on. The icon will flash when the filter cycle, the purge cycle or the Smart Winter Mode have been suspended.

heater
The Heater indicator lights up when the heater is on.
Quick Reference Cards
list of error messages and their meanings

Hr
An internal hardware error has been detected in in.xe. Contact dealer or service supplier.

HL
System has shut the heater down because the temp. has reached 119°F (48°C). Do not enter the water! Remove spa cover to allow water to cool down. Shut power off and power up to reset.

AOH
The temperature inside the spa skirt is too high, which is causing the internal temperature in the in.xe control system to increase above normal limits.
Open the spa skirt and wait until the error clears.

FLO
The system does not detect any water flow while the primary pump is running. Check and open water valves. Check water level. Clean filter. If problem persists, call your dealer or service supplier.

Prr
A problem has been detected with the temperature probe. Call your dealer or service supplier.

OH
The water temperature has reached 108°F (42°C). Do not enter the water! Remove the spa cover to allow water to cool down. Call your dealer or service supplier if the problem persists.
